Hong Kong's Crystal International publishes Sustainability Report 2021

In 2021, Crystal International reduced 9 per cent carbon intensity as against in 2017, as per its 13th sustainability report that summarises steps and efforts made in 2021, and illustrates how it spearheaded sustainability in the industry to move further by committing net zero emissions in 2050 and spread care to its employees and community amidst COVID-19.

The report has covered Crystal International’s sustainability vision, strategies, key initiatives, achievements, and performance in 2021. It complies with the new Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosure requirements of Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) as well as with reference to the GRI Standards.

As per the report, the company is committed to net zero emissions by 2050 with an interim target of 35 per cent of absolute carbon reduction by 2030, in line with science-based target approach. In 2021, the company completed the Climate Change disclosure on CDP with a score of B-, above the industry average. It conducted a climate-related risk analysis according to the guidelines of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

Crystal International received 60 global and local awards in 2021, including HKMA 2021 Best Annual Reports Awards – Certificate of Excellence in ESG Reporting, HERA Best ESG Report Commendation, Green building - Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) and Best Companies to Work for in Asia.
