Iran based Kavian Petrochemical Corporation will produce two million tons of ethylene at full capacity. The plant is currently operating at 60 per cent of its capacity and it will reach full capacity next year. Kavian is the main supplier of ethylene to the West Ethylene Pipeline and other projects set up under Bakhtar Petrochemical Company.

New phases of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field are expected to come online during the current year. As a result, the plant’s output is expected to reach 1.3 million tons this year, and will increase to 2 million tons in the next Iranian calendar year that begins on March 21, 2018, Iranian media reports said quoting Kavian managing director Ramezan Owladi.

Kavian Petrochemical Complex, part of the world’s biggest petrochemical complex in Asalouyeh, commenced first phase operation with annual production capacity of one million tons of ethylene in December 2012.
