Monthly UK real GDP grows by estimated 0.2% in Jan 2024: ONS

Monthly UK real gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have grown by 0.2 per cent in January this year, following a fall of 0.1 per cent in December last year, according to the Office of National Statistics (ONS).

Real GDP is estimated to have fallen by 0.1 per cent in the three months to January 2024 compared with the preceding quarter.

GDP is estimated to have fallen by 0.3 per cent in January compared with the same month last year.

Manufacturing output grew by 0.3 per cent in the three months to January compared with the preceding quarter.

Production output fell by 0.2 per cent both in January and in the three months to January.

Construction output grew by 1.1 per cent in January 2024, but in the three months to January 2024 construction output fell by 0.9 per cent.
