Schoeller Textil AG, a leader in high-performance textiles specialising in the sustainable development of innovative textiles and textile technologies, is set to present its newest collaboration at this year’s Outdoor in Friedrichshafen, Germany, on June 19, 2017. Visitors can see the latest developments in the stretch yarn X4zolTM-J from Lubrizol.
The long-established Swiss company Schoeller Textil AG is known for innovative, stretch woven and warp-knit fabrics for performance, protection, sports, and elite sports categories. Lubrizol is a specialised chemical company based in Cleveland, Ohio (USA), which has developed a new elastomeric fibre. Schoeller’s partnership with Lubrizol to utilise the X4zolTM-J fibre program enables the companies to jointly develop new textiles which meet a previously unachieved standard in terms of compression, fabric elongation and wearer comfort. The result provides leading garment brands with a welcome point of difference and the end consumer with clothing that meets the requirements of a modern lifestyle.
Schoeller will debut its new warp knitted materials containing X4zolTM-J for running, trail running, cycling or athleisure categories at the Outdoor fair. Lubrizol’s innovative new fibre takes apparel fit to the next generation, as it provides balanced 360o of comfortable stretch and support, breathability and sustainable benefits. Lubrizol X4zolTM-J, a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) fibre, is a new elastomeric monofilament that is manufactured differently from spandex, resulting in unique qualities that provide high wearer comfort. X4zolTM-J is created through solvent-free melt extrusion. (GK)
