Strong activity supports higher Asian ethylene prices

Ethylene prices moved up in Asia in the last week due to strong business activity in the region.
In Korea, average prices stepped up by US$ 25/ton and quoted at US$ 935/ton in the last week, as compared to previous week, a rise of 2.75 per cent.
In Japan, average prices improved by US$ 25/ton and assessed at US$ 930/ton in the last week, a jump of 2.76 per cent compared to previous week.
In SE Asia, average prices inched higher by US$ 20/ton and quoted at US$ 895/ton in the last week, an improvement of 2.29 per cent over the price prevailing at the end of the previous week.
In NE Asia, average prices surged by US$ 25/ton and assessed at US$ 990/ton in the last week, registering a hike of 2.59 per cent from the previous week.
