19 May 19 1 min read
A textile skills training centre was unveiled recently in Hawick, a town in the Roxburghshire county in the east Southern Uplands of Scotland. Scottish rural economy secretary Fergus Ewing visited Hawick to open the £610,000 Buccleuch Road centre for excellence in textiles. Supporting rural communities is a key priority for the Scottish Government, he said.
The project celebrates the town’s links to the textile industry and will have a lasting impact on the region as a whole, a Scottish Government press release quoted the secretary as saying. (DS)
