Turkish GDP up 4.5% YoY in 2023; Q4 GDP rises 4% YoY

Turkiye’s gross domestic product (GDP), obtained by addition of four quarters with chain-linked volume index, increased by 4.5 per cent year on year (YoY) in 2023. GDP at current prices rose by nearly 75 per cent YoY last year, reaching more than 26.276 trillion Turkish lira (TRY).

The GDP per capita was 307,952 TRY and $13,110  at current prices last year.

The 2023 fourth quarter (Q4) GDP with chain-linked volume index increased by 4 per cent YoY.

Seasonally- and calendar-adjusted GDP with chain-linked volume index increased by 1 per cent quarter on quarter (QoQ) in Q4 2023. The calendar-adjusted GDP with chain linked volume index rose by 4 per cent QoQ in Q4 2023, an official release said.

Exports of goods and services decreased by 2.7 per cent YoY, and such imports rose by 11.7 per cent YoY in 2023.

Exports of goods and services increased by 0.2 per cent YoY in Q4 2023 in the chained-linked volume index; such imports increased by 2.7 per cent.
