A massive fire broke out in the Raghuvir textile market in Gujarat’s Surat early yesterday, with flames engulfing a substantial part of the 10-storey building by the time fire tenders reached the spot. More than 50 fire tenders were rushed to the area. The cause of the fire is yet to be known. The 4th floor of the market had caught fire earlier as well.

The blaze spread from the bottom floors after fire in one of the shops and spread fast due to the presence of highly combustible polyester fabrics. No casualty has been reported, according to media reports from the city.
