The national portal for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)—Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength (CHAMPIONS)—to register their grievances around finance, raw material, labour and regulatory permissions has resolved nearly 50,000 complaints within five weeks of its launch, according to MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The minister was recently interacting with members of the Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC), a Dubai-based organisation of Indian companies and professionals, in a recent video conference. Gadkari said the portal, launched on May 9 and officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 1, is getting a good response.
The portal routes complaints by MSMEs grievance-wise to concerned branch, bureau, office heads under the MSME ministry to attend them within three days.
Apart from grievance redressal, the portal aims at helping MSMEs capture new opportunities, including manufacturing medical equipment and accessories, and identifying and encouraging the sparks:, i.e. the potential MSMEs who are able to withstand the current situation and can become national and international champions.
MSME secretary AK Sharma had earlier said that the grievance should not remain inconclusive after seven days of filing.
