Govt extends deadline to claim GST TRAN-1 credit to Nov 30

The government has announced its decision to extend the time limit to claim the credit of the transitional stock in the GST regime to November 30, stated a notification from Central Board of Excise and Customs. Previously, at the 21st meeting of the GST Council, the deadline for filing the TRAN-1 form was extended to October 31, from September-end earlier.

"Form GST TRAN-1 (with revision facility) extended to 30 November 2017," stated a tweet by GST@GOI, the official twitter handle of the government for GST.
TRAN-11 under rule 117 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, is filed by those businesses who want to claim credit for taxes paid duly before the launch of GST in July this year. The amount of credit specified in the application in form GST TRAN-1 will be credited to the electronic credit ledger of the applicant maintained in form GST PMT-2 on the common portal. (RR)
