AMD has made substantial progress on the use of its graphene based conductive ink technology to replace the aluminium and plastic materials that are incumbent in the ever-growing RFID applications industry. This has opened up opportunities in this sector for applications ranging from “green” to “flexible” solutions in a number of key markets.

“We are delighted to be able to continue our work in this area with the support of M&S. For many retailers, it is clear that the need for a sustainable RFID solution is becoming ever more urgent as they strive to address the increasing demand from customers and shareholders for improved sustainability and environmental credentials. M&S has been a standard bearer in both driving sustainability throughout their supply chain and the early adoption of RFID technology. The partnership will allow AMD’s technology to rapidly move to the next stage of development towards scalability and commercial deployment,” John Lee, CEO at AMD, said in a press release.
