Modest fashion was celebrated at the Milan Fashion Week Modest Soiree during the Milan Fashion Week that concluded recently. The exclusive fashion event featured the Islamic Fashion & Design Council (IFDC) Award winners namely Bow Boutique (Saudi Arabia, Chantique (Brunei) and other Made - in - Italy modest brands, Luya Moda and Isabella Caposano.

Each of the designers who participated in the event was given the opportunity to be introduced to key decision makers and influencers within the fashion industry, IFDC said in a press release.

Isabella Caposano's collection satisfied the love for haute couture with entirely hand-made pieces that were carefully stitched in her atelier. "We produce each piece exclusively in the atelier in order to care for each detail and remain true to our Italian heriage," said Isabella Caposano.

Established in Saudi Arabia by Nasreen Elsayegh, Bow Boutique brought a fresh pop of colour to the runway. "My vision is for everyone to appreciate the quality of the pieces, wear them fearlessly and feel more beautiful in them," said designer of Bow Boutique, Nasreen.

"It was our first show in Milan and this experience has exceeded our expectations. The highlights of the day were meeting some great people in the fashion industry and the spirit of the designers helping each other and with nothing but pure admiration for each other’s work and unique sense of style." said Francesca Cocconi from Luya Moda (Italy), one of the participants.

"IFDC’s Modest Fashion Soiree was a great opportunity for me to showcase a different definition of modest wear taking inspiration from my childhood memories of my mum's love of orchids. I’m totally overwhelmed by this chance given to me to showcase my creativity at this show," Fadzil Hadin from Chantique (Brunei), another participant.

Milan Fashion Week is dubbed as the most prestigious fashion event organised by the leading council Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. "IFDC is honoured to have been associated with MFW this year by hosting Milan Fashion Week Modest Soiree at the sideline of this high-profile global fashion event, with the introduction of noteable modest brands from all over the world," release added.

The two annual editions of Milan Fashion Week take place in September/October (spring-summer) and February/March (fall-winter) representing key meetings between the prêt-à-porter and market operators. (RR)
