WFSGI to take part in Indonesian safeguard investigation

The Trade Committee of World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) has decided to actively participate in the safeguard investigation on articles of apparel and clothing accessories initiated by the Indonesian government on October 1, 2020. It will register WFSGI and individual WFSGI member companies as interested parties in the investigation.

The applicant for the case in Indonesia is the Indonesian Textile Association (API).
The products under investigation comprise HS codes 6101, 6102, 6103, 6104, 6105, 6106, 6109, 6110, 6111, 6117, 6201, 6202, 6203, 6204, 6205, 6206, 6209, and 6214. Hence, the safeguard case is of importance to sporting goods companies, WFSGI said.
The safeguard action might result in restricted imports if the increased imports of the product are found to be causing, or threatening to cause, serious injury.
