In a bid to develop cross-border e-commerce trade, China has set up over 2,000 overseas warehouses, which are built by export and e-commerce firms in buyer countries and regions, as per the Ministry of Commerce (MOC). The total area of these warehouses exceeds 16 million m2. Goods are delivered directly to local customers from these warehouses.

The warehouses are vital for cross-border e-commerce and foreign trade.

The MOC has also said that it will encourage cross-border e-commerce companies, foreign trade companies and logistics firms to jointly build warehouses in different countries and offer financial support to drive development.
