AATCC to host colour management workshop in August

AATCC is set to host a colour management workshop on August 20-21, 2019, at the association’s technical centre in Research Triangle Park, NC, US. The communication of colour throughout the supply chain is imperative in textiles which contain many components. World-renowned colour experts will discuss topics related to colours and textiles at the workshop.

Roland Connelly, Sr., from Rolyn Group Colour consultants will discuss the topic ‘Colour Basis’. ‘Dye Selection for Desired Fastness Requirements’ will be discussed by Nelson Houser, from Archroma. ‘Color Communication’ will be discussed by Sandy L. Johnson from Color Solutions International, AATCC said in a press release.

Roland will also talk on the topic ‘Understanding Whites and other Fluorescent Materials’. ‘Color Tolerances in Black and White’ is chosen by Ann C. Laidlaw, ACL Color Consulting. Ann C. Laidlaw from ACL Color Consulting will speak on ‘Color and Lighting: Control, Efficiency, and Compliance’.

Ken R. Butts, Datacolor will be talking on ‘Supply Chain Conformance—Why Don’t my Numbers Match Yours?’ Andrew Fraser from InMocean will talk on the topic ‘The Cost of Color Quality’. Carol T. Revels from Lands’ End will be speaking on the topic ‘The Evolution and Revolution of Global Color Management’. ‘Ultra-Portable Color Measurement: A Spectro in Your Pocket?’ is the topic chosen by Ken R. Butts from Datacolor.

The workshop is designed for merchandisers, retailers, manufacturers, product developers, colour approval managers, specifiers, and designers.

Breakout sessions will focus on illumination and observer issues; sample analysis and measurement technique; implementing virtual development in a digital workflow; processes and technologies for better colour control in the supply chain; and realities of colour management in retail. (GK)
