At the end of the session you will have a swatch of Mrs Montague on a garter base. The pattern is named after Mrs Montague, a silk woman, who knitted stockings for Queen Elizabeth I. It can be seen as the pattern on a pair of fine silk stockings, which belonged to the Queen. It is a beautiful pattern, which can be used in many variations and makes an excellent shawl centre.
