The fabric mills are mainly concentrated in İstanbul, Bursa, Adana, Denizli, Kahramanmaraş, İzmir, Gaziantep, Tekirdağ, Kayseri and Uşak. Many of the integrated mills are located in İstanbul, Bursa, Kahramanmaraş, Adana and Gaziantep.

Today, Turkish fabric manufacturers are aware of the increasing trend in international markets for healthier and more environment-friendly products and have adapted themselves to these developments. Many Turkish fabric manufacturers have ecological labels for their products. Many of them have Oeko Tex Standard 100 which is one of the best known eco- labels.

Exports
The total value of fabrics exported in 2006 was about US$ 3.1 billion. The main products exported in 2006 were woven cotton fabrics, woven synthetic fabrics and knitted fabrics. The export values of cotton fabrics, synthetic fabrics knitted fabrics were about US$ 844 million, US$ 909 million and US$ 569 million respectively.
In the period of 20042006 the export value of woven cotton fabrics increased by 6% from US$ 799 million to US$ 844 million. The main markets for woven cotton fabrics exported in 2006 were respectively Italy (12%), Romania (10%), Germany (7%), Poland (5%), Bulgaria (5%) and the USA (4%).
The export value of woven fabrics of manmade filaments and staple fibers rose by 29% from US$ 736 million to US$ 947 million in the period of 20042006. The major markets for this product group in 2006 were respectively the Russian Federation (16%), Romania (7%), Germany (7%), the UK (5%), Poland (5%), Spain (4%), The USA (3%), Greece (4%), Italy (3%), The Netherlands (3%) and Iran (3%).
The exports of knitted fabrics which were US$ 441 million in 2004 increased enormously and reached US$ 752 million in 2006. The main markets for knitted or crocheted fabrics were Italy (20%), the Russian Federation (13%), Romania (11%), Bulgaria (10%), Serbia and Montenegro (4%), Israel (3%), Algeria (3%) and Greece (3%).
In the period of 20042006 the export value of woven wool fabrics increased by 8% from US$ 105 million US$ 113 million. The main markets for woven wool fabrics exported in 2006 were respectively Germany (8%), Bulgaria (7%), Hong Kong (5%), Romania (5%), France (4%), Spain (3%), Italy (3%), Hungary (3%), Egypt (3%), Chinese (3%) and Philippines (3%).
