Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) intends to establish two factories on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis, to boost supply of inputs to the khadi institutions and for the same it has invited expression of interests (EoIs).

The two plants are intended to be established in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

KVIC's purpose behind setting up these units is to enhance the supply of sliver/roving for about 2,000 khadi institutions across the nation. Sliver/roving is the key input that goes into production of khadi.

By way of the Khadi Reform and Development Programme that it is executing in association with the Asian Development Bank, KVIC intends to adopt the PPP model for the sliver/roving plants (CSPs) and thereby boost the supply.
