The textile park was pending for a long time as adequate land was not available for it. The proposal to build this park was initiated by Prithviraj Chavan, former chief minister of Maharashtra, Madan Yerawar, minister of state for energy & guardian minister of Yavatmal told a news agency.
The textile park will ensure better avenues for farmers, helping them garner maximum benefit. It will also provide employment to the youth of the region, he added.
Yerawar, who chaired the meeting at Mantralaya, also proposed setting up basic infrastructural facilities such as energy supply, water and sewerage water treatment plant at the textile park.
A 132 KV electricity sub-station will fulfil the energy requirements of the textile units that will come up at the park, said Yerawar. (KD)
