Weddington Way, a social shopping platform for wedding parties, will soon join Gap, a leading global retailer of clothing, accessories and personal care products. Ilana Stern, founder of Weddington Way, will continue to head the company from San Francisco and will report to the executive VP and strategy and chief customer officer of Gap, Sebastian DiGrande.
Weddington Way built a digital first, data driven shopping destination distinguished by a virtual showroom that fosters communication and coordination across geographically dispersed bridal parties. The online boutique features exclusive bridesmaid dresses and a curated selection of wedding party gifts, which ship to customers globally.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, and the deal does not have a material impact for the company, said Gap in a press statement. (KD)
