The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has sought Turkish investment in the country's readymade garment (RMG) and furniture sectors.

FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad made the appeal at a meeting between the FBCCI delegation and a 23-member Turkish business team visiting Dhaka, Bangladeshi newspapers have reported.

“Bangladesh is experiencing a sustainable growth of 6 per cent for the last few years and we want to get Turkey as our development partner with Foreign Direct Investment (FDI),” said Ahmed.

He also called upon the Turkish delegation to invest in the construction, textile and PVC-pipe manufacturing sectors.

The Turkish delegation expressed keen interest to import necessary products from Bangladesh and invited the Bangladesh business community to visit Turkey to explore new business opportunities. (SH)
