Kenya’s Kitui County Textile Centre (KICOTEC) is manufacturing 30,000 face masks daily and is also making personal protective equipment (PPE) as the country faces an acute shortage of such items. KICOTEC is among the local companies identified by the government to ease the shortage. The centre has employed over 350 workers, Kitui governor Charity Ngilu said.
