Social commerce and fashion discovery app, Wooplr has appointed CEO of Arvind Lifestyle, Rajiv Mehta to a senior advisory capacity and co-founder of fashion e-commerce portal Koovs, Rajesh Kamra as the Head of Commerce.

Founded in 2012, Woolpr, pivoted from an offline to online discovery platform to an e-commerce affiliate model in 2015. Apart from working with e-commerce portals, the social-buying platform is also partnering with offline brands to provide a full stack solution from SKU digitisation to managing logistics.

Mehta will bring to Wooplr his strategic vision and global insights and help Wooplr to further strengthen their positioning within the fashion industry.

“I take pride to welcome such industry leaders on board.” said Arjun Zacharia, CEO, Wooplr. “Both Rajiv and Rajesh share an impressive track record of success and will bring significant value to our leadership team. Together as a team, we will continue our growth trajectory and hit $100 million GMV by 2018."

Mehta is the CEO of Arvind Sports Lifestyle & Arvind Fashion Brands. He is also an active angel investor for the Indian Angel Network.

“I see Wooplr as a beacon leading the fashion commerce industry away from the discount and sale driven black hole to deliver a new way to shop for fashion, with their focus on balancing commerce, content, and community. I look forward to contributing to this revolution that Wooplr leads,” Mehta said.

Rajesh Kamra, the co-founder of Koovs.com is a seasoned industry expert who acquired a wealth of business and e-commerce experience while instituting Koovs.

“I have been tracking Wooplr growth for last couple of years and have been very impressed with the way Wooplr has solved the fashion discovery problem of the young urbane consumer. It gives me immense pleasure to join the Wooplr team in their efforts to spearhead social commerce,” he said (SH)
