Melissa Burgess-Taylor has been named as the new chairman and chief executive officer at apparel marketer Fruit of the Loom. Burgess-Taylor is currently the senior vice president of brand management and sales for Fruit of the Loom and Vanity Fair brands, and has been associated with the company for more than 17 years, heading various leadership roles.

Prior to joining Fruit of the Loom, she worked with Hanes Brands and Mercantile Department Stores.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing with a minor in textiles and clothing from Western Kentucky University.
