Jane & Marilyn unveils new pure silk dresses

'Grown up' glamour label, Jane & Marilyn is delighted to announce that its new 'Silk Collection' is now available. Featuring seven new forever dresses, in addition to a stylish cropped jacket, the new collection is made entirely from silk, in most cases a beautiful soft, woven 'Matka' silk which is suitable for year-round wear.
All the pieces have again been produced in the UK and are fully lined in pure silk. Prices for the new collection range from £295 for the jacket to £580 for a full length evening gown.
In keeping with the brand's signature, shapely look, elements include tailoring, pencil skirts with double box pleats or fishtail godets, wide set necklines, pleating and waterfall draping; each piece delivering a touch of old style Hollywood polish and glamour.
Longer hemlines cut a chic silhouette and for those shopping with the 'events of the season' in mind, all designs are dress code friendly, so even Royal Ascot won't be an issue!
With yellow and orange being on trend for SS12, Jane & Marilyn has chosen soft coral and banana shades for the ready to wear collection – easier to wear than bright fluoro shades for the pale English rose complexion – in addition to ocean, stone and slate. Other colours are available on request as part of the label's demi couture service.
And for those looking for a real statement piece, the 'Lily' dress (one of two Chinese influenced designs), available in cocktail or full length, comes in a striking pink, purple and green jacquard silk, woven in the UK exclusively for Jane & Marilyn. For those preferring a quieter palette, it is also offered in a bronze and silver colourway.
The Lauren cropped matador jacket has been introduced in response to customer requests and is designed to work with many of the sleeveless Jane & Marilyn dresses. It has three quarter sleeves that can be worn up or down and a pleat around the top of the sleeve creates a sophisticated silhouette.
“We're very excited about our new collection,” comments designer Jane Foddy. “We're continuing the 1950s aesthetic and we've added some oriental influences too. We're also delighted to continue our policy of supporting UK business by sourcing our cloth and manufacturing in this country.”
In addition to the new collection, Jane & Marilyn has also launched an accessories range, featuring hats designed to co-ordinate with the dresses, stunning leather belts and beautiful crystal jewellery, all made in the UK.
