GAP Japan K.K. gets new head

Gap Japan K.K. announced that Robert Frank has been appointed as Gap Inc.'s Managing Director for Japan, and will also become Representative Director of Gap Japan K.K. after governance requirements are met.
In this role, Robert will be responsible for Gap Inc.'s operations in Japan, which includes Gap and Banana Republic stores. He will be based in Tokyo and report to Gap Inc.'s International President, Stephen Sunnucks.

Robert has been with Gap Inc. for seven years and has made significant contributions to both Gap and Banana Republic brands. Prior to this new role, Robert served as Executive Vice President of Operations leading Inventory Management, Strategy, Real Estate and IT for Banana Republic. He was responsible for driving the business across multiple functions, channels and geographies, leading strategy development and overall execution of key initiatives.
Prior to his leadership position at Banana Republic, Robert made significant contributions to the Gap brand as SVP of Inventory Management, Production and General Manager of the Canada business. Prior to joining Gap Inc, Robert worked at McKinsey & Company and was a leader in their Retail and Consumer practice.
Gap Japan is the Japanese arm of Gap Inc. (headquartered in San Francisco, US) offering clothing, accessories, and personal care products for men, women, children, and babies under the Gap and Banana Republic. Gap Japan K.K. was established in 1995 and currently operates 133 Gap and 29 Banana Republic stores in Japan.
