Japanese retail sales of apparels and accessories fell marginally in July 2011 when compared with the same month of 2010.
According to the Japan Department Stores Association, clothing revenues of member stores across the country touched ¥202.92 billion in July 2011, down 0.9 percent from July 2010.
Of which sales of menswear fell 0.2% to ¥38.34 billion, womenswear dipped 0.8% to ¥135.97 billion and children's wear declined 0.8% to ¥13.38 billion.
The Japan Department Stores Association has culled the data from 86 firms and 255 stores from across the country.
