Matalan, a fashion and home-ware retailer chain based in Skelmersdale, has announced that it would recruit 2,300 additional temporary staff at its outlets for the Christmas season.

The brand has 121 outlets spread through its 11 branches in Greater Manchester.

Mike Jeans, Retail Director of the chain, said they are hunting for sales associates who are keen to work in a demanding environment and would ensure that all potential Christmas gifts are available for sale at their outlets, but most of all, those who would go all-out to keep their customers pleased and retain smile on their faces.

Matalan's announcement followed unveiling of hiring plans by another retail chain Argos, which stated that over the Christmas period it would create around 500 seasonal vacancies in its outlets spread across Greater Manchester and 12,000 temporary job opportunities across the country.
