QVENDO launches e-retail for high-end apparels in India

QVENDO, a private shopping portal that brings many different apparel and accessories brands together in one online shop for its members, has launched its site in India.

The exclusive 'members only' site, founded in 2010 by Oliver and Reema von Quadt, offers both current and previous seasons collections at discounts on European retail prices. Thus, it enables the members to avail the same quality items that are found in European stores, but at reduced prices.

QVENDO also offers designer wear from young boutique designers, besides making available products of well-known brands like Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Armani and True Religion.

Mrs. Reema von Quadt, Managing Director of QVENDO, spoke to Fibre2fashion about the rationale behind selecting India for launching their site and e-retail. She said, “In terms of brand awareness, India ranks third in the world. People crave for luxury brands, but have limited access to these products. And even those few brands that are available are more expensive than the same products in Europe. QVENDO will fill in this gap by bringing better and larger selections, at reasonable prices, to the Indian market.”

Being optimistic about the Indian launch, she said, “E-commerce is going to boom, and is already on a steady rise in India. And at QVENDO, it is our mission to make it easy to shop, deliver a quality product and care about customer service.”

However, she added that it would take time to build-up 'trust', especially as India is still new to e-commerce. “Building trust with customers requires a lot of work, a very stable e-commerce system, and a lot of reliable partners," she noted.

"At the premium brand level, high quality standards are a given fact. You never have to question the quality of a pair of True Religion Jeans, a Chloé shoe, or a Prada purse. The brands themselves take care of that. That is the driving force behind why high-end garments and accessories will work online,” Mrs. Quadt explained.

She further added, “At QVENDO, we only sell big Western names and at extremely fair prices. We believe that true smart shopping starts with luxury and high-street fashion and the understanding of the value and quality you are getting for the price.”

Putting her faith on Indian smart shoppers who love good deals, MD of QVENDO exclaimed, “E-commerce allows significant savings by reducing traditional overhead costs, and hence is a better deal than having to settle for lower-end garments in a store. Indians can now look forward to get their hands on good deals on quality merchandise.”

“Every moment in our customer experience chain is essential - from the moment you log in to the moment you receive your cool, new and authentic fashion item on the door, all while saving money," she asserted.
