China exported silk garments worth US$ 700 million during the first seven months of the current year, registering an increase of 6.4 percent year-on-year, as per the statistics from China Customs.
Quantity-wise, 197.05 million pieces (sets) were exported during the January-July period, showing a substantial increase of 314.69 percent year-on-year.
The average price per piece (set) fell to US$ 3.55, a decline of 74.34 percent year-on-year.
Silk garment exports accounted for 0.8 percent of the total value of China's garment exports, 33.57 percent of the total export value of China's silk merchandise, and 66.95 percent of the total export value of China's manufactured silk products.
