The Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show 2012 is preparing to host the largest trade delegation from China to ever attend an industry event.

The China Workwear Association (CWA) has already booked out 50 stands at the workwear show, which is once again sponsored by JAL Group and takes place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, on April 17 and 18 next year.

The unprecedented level of interest from China underlines the ambition to develop new business links and the WCCS event will provide the perfect platform for the Chinese to explore European markets.

Their presence at the event represents a fantastic opportunity for buyers and suppliers attending the show because while China is renowned for manufacturing and supply, there has also been a significant demand for importing product lines from Europe.

Wang Yaomin, Chairman of the CWA, says: “The China Workwear Association was established in 1998 and now has more than 300 member enterprises covering all the major Chinese manufacturers such as Shangdong Yeliya Group, Hongdou Group, Golden Eagle Group, Shanghai Baoniao Group, Hubei Meierya etc.

“In the past decade China's workwear industry has seen significant development in areas such as designing, manufacturing and brand creation and the industry is now estimated to be worth £23billion, which is approximately ten times the value of the European market.

“Members from the CWA are looking forward to taking part in the upcoming Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show to explore the European market.

“While being a major player as manufacturing suppliers for the rest of the world, China has seen an increasing demand for importing product lines from the West.

“CWA sees the Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show as the ideal opportunity to get first hand information about the European suppliers and forge new business links.”

The workwear show's Managing Director Yvette Ashby said: “We are delighted to welcome the Chinese delegation to exhibit for the first time at the show. New export and import opportunities are emerging in China for international businesses and by bringing over highly reputable and established Chinese manufacturers, interested parties will be given the perfect chance to find out more.”

The Chinese delegation will be joined by dozens of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of workwear, corporate uniform and PPE from across the UK and Europe and the rest of the world.

New Zealand-based Pacific Brands will be returning for the second year running after the 2011 show boosted their profile in the European market.

Alex Percossi from Pacific says: “Pacific Brands is proud to be back exhibiting at the Workwear and Corporate Clothing show in 2012. Our presence at the show in 2011 accelerated awareness in the market of what we have to offer - and we have been successful in being invited to tender by a number of high profile companies and purchasing teams as a result.”
