Nally & Millie receives California's Fashion Innovator award

Nally & Millie, a Los Angeles, US-based contemporary women's label, has been awarded the Moss Adams Fashion Innovator (MAFI) award at a fund-raiser fashion event “California Dreaming…A Fashion Celebration for a Cause,” hosted by Fashion Business Inc., a non-profit organization.

The event featured a runway show of Nally & Millie designs. It also showed a cross section of up-and-coming local California labels including men's label Angelino, men's swimwear label Robert Joseph, women's swimwear line Odina Surf, women's loungewear and sleepwear label Unspoken, and few action sports brands.

Martin Hughes, accounting firm Moss Adams LLP's Director of apparel, said the MAFI award is presented to a California company or designer in recognition of their doing something unique in the past 12 months, which has exemplified innovation and creativity through unique manufacturing, marketing or designs.

The prize, launched in 2003, also includes a US$ 5,000 of consulting services from Moss Adams. In the past, the award has been given to Corey Lyn Calter (2003) Frankie B (2004), Petro Zillia (2005), Rozae Nichols (2006), Juan Carlos Obando (2007) and Katy Rodriguez (2008). The award was not given to anyone in 2009 and 2010.
