Lands' End offers Wonderful Wool this season

Mother Nature hasn't held back the past few winter seasons... ice storms, frigid temps and huge snowstorms in major U.S. cities have introduced creative names like Snowpocalypse and Snowmageddon into modern day vocabulary. So, it's no surprise that nearly 80 percent (79.9%) of women questioned in a recent Lands' End survey said due to past winter extremes, they would prepare more for this winter than they have in past winters.

"At Lands' End, we started preparing for this winter before the snow from last winter was even off the ground," said Chris Kolbe, Lands' End brand president. "Every coat, jacket, snowpant and boot we designed for this season was reviewed stitch by stitch, building in quality fabrics, technology and construction.

"The result is a complete collection of outerwear made from evolutionary fabrics designed to hold up to the toughest winter weather conditions," said Kolbe. "With our outerwear, the whole family is guaranteed to be ready for winter's worst."

Wear the Best to Fight the worst
Ever wear a jacket and the wind comes right through? Unfortunately, that's something almost all (89.1%) of those surveyed have experienced. The answer is -- Down! Known as "nature's insulator," down gives jackets warmth without the weight.

In addition to staying warm and toasty, this season there are four fashionable down options to choose from: Essential Down, Diamond Down, Luxe Down and Shimmer Down. Whether it's the great stitching pattern of the Diamond Down or the fashionable shine of the Shimmer Down, women can't go wrong with down.

Warm, lightweight and bulk-free, men will love the new 600 fill power Hooded Down Jacket. Guys will stay warm because the higher the fill power, the better the insulation -- it's one of the best values too.

Quality for the Kids
Finding a quality coat for the kids is something most parents put at the top of winter checklists. In fact, over 80 percent (84.9%) of moms surveyed said it's easy to tell the difference between a cheap coat and a quality coat. And equally important, parents are often looking for a jacket that can be worn by more than one child in the family.

"My wife and I have five children, so every season we're usually figuring out how many coats we can pass down from kid to kid," commented Kolbe. "All Lands' End Kids outerwear is built with 'hand-me- down quality' so parents can extend the life of a jacket by passing on the warmth to the next child in line."

Extending the wearability of a jacket can actually mean literally extending the jacket! Lands' End's Grow-A-Long feature in Squall and Expedition jackets and snow pants lets the outerwear grow as children grow. Parents can simply turn the sleeve or leg inside out, snip and remove the brightly colored thread and pull down to lengthen jacket sleeves an extra 1 1/2 inches and snow pants an additional 2 inches.

Wonderful Wool
Warmth is in style this season and wool has a whole new appeal! Lands' End is offering a new exclusive fabric that combines the warming power of wool with the soft touch of cashmere. It's the perfect combination of warmth and luxury in sophisticated styles.
