Celebrity Fashions Q2 net loss decreases

Celebrity Fashions Limited, engaged in the business of designing, manufacturing and exporting/retailing of readymade garments, has lowered its net loss by 47 per cent in the second quarter of the current financial year to Rs. 38.2 million compared to a net loss of Rs. 71.8 million posted during the corresponding quarter of 2010-11.
The Chennai-based company has reported a decrease in its net sales from operations to Rs. 282.2 million during the July-September quarter compared to its net sales of Rs. 408.2 million recorded during the same period last year.
The decrease in net sales is mainly due to the hiving of Indian Terrain as a separate entity sometime ago.
Celebrity Fashions is India's premium manufacturer of garments since 1988.
