Dong Xuan Knitting Co. Ltd. (Doximex), one of the largest knitwear producers of Vietnam, has launched a new US$ 16 million knitwear facility to facilitate production of premium quality knitwear to cater to the Japanese market.
The new knitwear manufacturing unit in the Northern Province of Hung Yen has been developed by the Vietnamese firm in association with its Japanese partner Katakura Industries Company. It houses an annual production capacity of 10 million garments and would serve as a source of employment for about 2,000 local workers.
The new factory would mainly engage in production of knitwear items for Japanese retailer Aeon's private label Topvalu.
Besides, catering to the needs of Japanese conglomerates like Aeon and Itochu, the Vietnamese firm also caters to the apparel requirements of brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Aulak Fashions, The Children's Place and Eminence Apparel.
Future plans of Doximex include development of a spinning facility and a fabric plant in the Hung Yen province with respective capacity of 6,000 tons and 3,000 tons per annum.
