BJI Fashion Group is pleased to announce that MRketNY's Fall/Winter 2012 edition is scheduled for Sunday, January 22 – Tuesday, January 24 at NYC's premier venue, the Javits Center. MRket is committed to listening to the needs of the industry and has chosen these dates accordingly.

“This has been a very carefully considered decision as we never believe in splitting market weeks. However, a thorough evaluation of the global demands of the menswear industry revealed that this new date pattern offered significant benefits to both our retailers and exhibitors,” said Britton Jones, President and CEO of Business Journals, Inc.

By accommodating the requests for more time in between the European and New York shows, BJI Fashion Group is proud to oblige the demands of our domestic and international exhibitors, as well as our retailers.

A core group of US and Canadian retailers, who travel to Milan directly after Florence, requested the shift in show dates because shopping MRketNY is critical to their buying strategy for the Fall/Winter season. The industry was heard loud and clear so it was apparent that BJI Fashion Group would take the reigns in shifting the dates by one week.

“The new dates of MRket allow this process to flow smoothly, geographically and logistically, allowing exhibitors, buyers and collections to move from one location to the next in a linear and organized way,” said Luciano Moresco, owner of Luciano Moresco Showroom.

Furthermore, MRket will be opening on a Sunday to maximize the value and convenience of this upcoming market week schedule. The Sunday through Tuesday pattern proved to be a popular preference during the July 2011 show.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer a venue that is more conducive to our ever-growing International constituency and to accommodate the needs of many domestic specialty stores by opening on a Sunday,” said Jones.

“I strongly believe that by moving the January 2012 MRket show dates from a Monday to a Sunday start and most of all, one week after PITTI, was a showing of commitment by Business Journals to all MRket exhibitors, especially to the Italian companies.

Such a move will give the Made in Italy group and all the international companies, who participate at MRket, time to properly prepare for what I believe will be a very strong show,” said Aniello Musella, Trade Commissioner for the Italian Trade Commission.

Mark your calendars! MRketNY will be a one-stop shopping experience not to be missed. We look forward to seeing you in 2012.
