Online retailer Patriot Surplus takes up charitable cause

The holiday season is known to be a time for giving. Many businesses, of all sizes and industries, choose to make charitable donations during this time of year in order to benefit various causes in the business' community and beyond. One online retailer is looking to pay it forward this holiday season by giving back to the very customer base it serves: veterans, service members, and their supporters.

Patriot Surplus, an online retailer of military surplus and law enforcement gear, has recently become an authorized retailer of Oscar Mike Foundation merchandise.

Steve Berg, founder of Patriot Surplus's website, notes that the entire Patriot Surplus team is very excited to be working with the foundation to encourage charitable giving to veterans not just during the holiday season, but year round.

“Aside from the foundation, we are the exclusive distributors of the line,” said Berg. “This is an awesome opportunity and we're just glad to support such a great organization and cause.”

The Oscar Mike Foundation is a charitable foundation that supports veterans by donating 10% of proceeds from the sales of all Oscar Mike apparel and 100% of the donations to the Oscar Mike Foundation to disabled veterans groups and charities.

Currently, the Oscar Mike Foundation supports the Paralyzed Veterans of America and Disabled American Veterans groups.

According to Oscar Mike President Noah Currier, “Getting 'on the move' is communicated as 'Oscar Mike' in radio jargon that we use on the front lines.

Oscar Mike and the OMFoundation are proud to partner with Patriot Surplus as they promote our cause and help us with our mission of assisting and promoting injured veterans in being 'On-the-Move.' There is nothing more deadly than two Marines on a mission!”

All Oscar Mike apparel is made in the United States and the company and foundation are managed 100 percent by veterans.

Patriot Surplus is the official online store for Patriot Surplus, a military surplus retailer based in Carlisle, PA. Founded by former U.S. Marine Steve Berg, this small business has grown into a leading supplier of Belleville military boots, as well as Rothco military surplus gear, Danner boots, military BDUs, Rocky boots, and military clothing for men and women.
