Kachins, the Dubai-based three decades old firm specializing in menswear, is planning to open its outlets in Indian cities of Mumbai and Delhi.
The bespoke couture and ready-to-wear company currently has three stores in Dubai and it now intends to double the number of its outlets over next 2-3 years.
Mr. Ravi Ramchandani, CEO of Kachins Group told fibre2fashion, “After launching our new showroom Kachins Couture in the prestigious area of Dubai Marina over a year ago, we are now prepared to accelerate our expansion through entering new markets.”
“Being pioneers in the area of bespoke men's fashion clothing, we are well recognized in the Dubai market. Hence, it is time for us to consider launching in cities like Mumbai and Delhi in India and Abu Dhabi and Doha in the Middle East, which offer tremendous potential,” he adds.
Explaining the rationale for choosing the four cities for Kachins expansion, he says, “These cities are seeing an influx of expatriates and tourists in recent years, which is our main target market. The increasing economic activity in these cities is also a reason.”
Talking about driving factors behind expansion plans, he says, “We have grown in a very cautious manner in the past due to the personalized nature of the business and the need to maintain a high level of quality control. However, we are now in a position to leverage our internal capabilities and experience to gain a stronger foothold in the bespoke menswear market which is witnessing increased demand.”
Elucidating further, he reveals, “Kachins has always grown in an organic manner and our reliance on debt financing has literally been zero. The company's growth happens from the internal cash flows itself and we are very confident that tapping into newer markets will enable us to become stronger than ever. We also take pride in our quality and brand recognition which will certainly improve as well, as a result of our expansion plans.”
