1920's Art Deco glamour inspires Lisamichelle for Spring

The Lisamichelle Collection, a Los Angeles-based line of women's contemporary clothing and accessories, recently presented a new Spring 2012 collection at Runway Magazine's fashion show event at Drai's in Hollywood.
Inspired by the glamour and sophistication of the 1920's, the line includes styles ranging from feminine, draped, silk jersey cowl necked tops and dresses that can be worn in different ways, to flirty charmeuse pant jumpsuits, layered with jeweled and embroidered accessories.
"I wanted to focus on unique fabrications and artistic materials," Lisa Felsenthal, the collection's creative director, said. "Mixing materials like stained glass metallic jacquard, hand painted silk chiffon, and stone-encrusted trims, allow the collection to be truly unique and each piece to stand alone as a special item."
Lisa was inspired by twenties era flappers and art deco architecture. "I started to experiment with opposites and found that a beautiful story took shape. Chains complemented chiffon, sparkling jewels enhanced dark gemstones, and even embroidery took a new turn, when metal replaced thread on our embroidered belts. The new collection is meant to be playful, feminine and versatile." To bring the contrast of elements to the next level, photographer and former Heatherette designer, Traver Rains, shot the new look book at an architecturally modern house in the Hollywood Hills.
Other hallmarks of the Lisamichelle Collection include asymmetrical dresses, structured and tailored separates, sculptural statement necklaces, embroidered cuffs, and tulle covered ribbon belts that delicately drape the waistline or can be worn as headbands, scarves, or wrapped around the wrist as a cuff.
