A decision by Foschini Group to buy the factory of Prestige Clothing, one of its Cape Town based suppliers has been welcomed by the government.
Minister of Economic Development - Ebrahim Patel said this indicated a confidence in the South African textile and garment industry and will also help boost job prospects.
A deal was signed recently between business and labour, which will strengthen the local supply chains and also help in new job creation.
