The CURVExpo February road show started in Las Vegas just before Valentine's day and running on different days than Magic. The early February start time resulted in a slower start of the shows, although the number of buyers was consistent with the 2011 February show (1917). The Industry applauds the change of Las Vegas Fashion week dates in February 2013 that will take place after Valentine's day.

The CURVENV Las Vegas attendance profile has continued to grow and become more global: 15% of the attendance came from overseas this year with a large contingent of Canadian stores (88), followed by Japanese and Mexican retailers. The states most strongly represented were California, New York, Nevada, and Florida. Major retailers shopped the show floor, including Dillards, Amazon, Zappos, Fred Segal, Fresh Pair, Hautelook, JC Penney, La Maison Simons, Lane Bryant, Neiman Marcus, Top Drawer Houston Texas, and Tres Jolie, and placed more orders on site than expected.

With a full house in attendance, The So Curve Fashion Show at the Crazy Horse Paris presented its 4th edition.

New this season: 43 Brands participated in the “Meet, Discover, and Win” raffle and gave out $1000 worth of merchandise (retail value). In addition, CURVENV Las Vegas raffled off 10 iPad 2's loaded with information from participating brands. Among the 53 lucky winners were Bravo, Allure Swimwear, Love the Beach, Jule Lingerie, Romantic Motions, and Bra Garden.

The CURVExpo road trip continued with CURVENY New York on the East Coast at the Javits Center in New York from Feb 21-23. The long lines at the registration desk gave a picture of what a great turnout we had with a 5% increase in buyers (2339). The order-taking was quick and successful from a combination of exhibitors' beautiful collections and the high spirits of the buyers.

There was also an increase in international buyers with 15 % of the attendance coming from overseas and a large number of retailers coming from Brazil, Japan, UK, and Canada. The East Coast states were well represented. All distribution channels were in attendance with all majors (Macys, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus…), Ecommerce (Bare Necessities, Herroom…) and the best specialty stores, such as Journelle, Intimacy, Alla Prima, Nancy Meyer, etc.

The “Meet, Discover, and Win” raffle included 83 participating brands and 10 iPads, which were donated by CURVENY New York. The raffle ended with 93 very happy winners. Among the lucky winners were Trousseau of Dallas, A Brief Affair, Intimacy, Bare Necessities, and Journelle.

The August shows are expected to be the meeting point for the Lingerie, Swimwear, and Men's Elegance professional, featuring Spring Summer 2013 Collections. They will take place during the Lingerie and Swim market in New York, - CURVENY New York Aug 5-7 2012 and during the Las Vegas Fashion week in Las Vegas – CURVENV Las Vegas Aug 21-23 2012.
