Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex), Vietnam's largest garment manufacturer and exporter, has posted a revenue (VAT excluded) of 6.402 trillion dong during the first two months of the current year, registering an increase of 13 percent year-on-year.
In February 2012, Vinatex produced goods worth 2.6 trillion dong, taking the total production during the initial two months of the current year to 4.795 trillion dong, showing a year-on-year rise of 8 percent.
The Group said about 70-80 percent of Vinatex's member companies have already received adequate export orders to last until the end of March. It added that some firms have received sufficient orders for second and third quarters. However, these companies are finding it difficult to bag orders with large quantity.
Last year, Vinatex grossed export revenue of US$ 2.4 billion, registering a rise of 26 percent year-on-year.
Vinatex contributes about 17 percent to Vietnam's overall textile and garment industry exports.
