Australian swimmers undecided on swimsuits for Olympics

With only a few months to go for the London Olympics, many Australian swimmers are still undecided over which swimsuits to wear – those made by the company that sponsors national swim team or the ones offered by the uniform sponsor for the overall London Games team.

Speedo is the official sponsor of Australian swim team, but after receiving complains from swimmers about ill-fit of the new Speedo suits, the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has allowed swimmers representing Australia at this year's London Games to seek permission to use swimsuits of brands other than Speedo.

Making use of the permission, siblings Cate and Bronte Campbell have opted to wear swimsuits offered by adidas, the uniform sponsor for the entire Olympic team, saying they have already swum wearing those suits and have performed well.

Speedo said it has supported and invested in Australian swimming since the establishment of the brand in 1928 and has helped top swimmers to earn more gold medals and break more world records than any other brand.

The company is working in close cooperation with swimmers and the AOC to deliver suits that would allow athletes to feel confident and help them perform excellently in London, Speedo added.
