Hunkemöller, the Amsterdam, Netherlands-based lingerie chain, is headed for a major expansion in Germany.
Viewing great growth opportunities in German market, the chain that operates under the name 'Bodique' in foreign countries, intends to open 100 new stores in Germany by 2014, Hunkemöller International Sales Director Bart van den Nieuwenhof said.
The lingerie retail chain currently operates 145 stores in Germany, including the 7 stores launched during the current year.
Hunkemöller has met success in German markets, and business is flourishing. German customers have appreciation for Hunkemöller brand and there is still further scope for expansion, Mr. Nieuwenhof said.
The lingerie brand has been able to penetrate in the German market, which was previously under dominance of departmental outlets like Kaufhof, Karstadt and C&A, and mail order businesses like Otto.
Currently, Hunkemöller operates in 15 countries across the Middle East and Europe.
Besides expansion in Germany, Hunkemöller, which opened its first outlets in the UK and Austria last year, intends to open nine more stores in Austria this year.
