UK-retailer Tesco opens first F&F store in Jeddah

Tesco this week opened its first F&F store in Saudi Arabia. The store in Haifa Mall in Jeddah is the first of the F&F franchise stores announced by Tesco earlier this year.

Tesco has worked with local retailer Fawaz Abdulaziz Al Hokair & Co (SJSC) to bring a great range of clothing and excellent service to the local market. Based primarily on the core European F&F collection the store offers a range of womens and menswear, as well as a kids and baby range.

The move supports Tesco's long-term strategy to grow highly valued international brands. Using the franchising model enables Tesco to accelerate the growth of its F&F brand on a wider scale.

Now trading in 12 markets, F&F is aiming to become the world's leading brand of affordable fashion. In just three years, it has become the leading fashion brand in Central Europe, recently launching its third stand alone F&F store in Warsaw, Poland. The stand alone stores have enabled Tesco to test and refine ideas, leading on to the new franchise format.

Jason Tarry, CEO of F&F International said:
“We are delighted that our first franchise store has opened in Jeddah. The initial reaction from customers has been very positive, and we are looking forward to opening more stores in the region over the coming months.”

Tesco is the UK's largest retailer and one of the world's leading international retailers. Tesco has around 5,000 stores worldwide, employing over 500,000 people in the 14 countries in which it operates.
