UKFT launches new event to motivate next generation

UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT), which works for the benefit of fashion, clothing and knitting businesses across the UK, has launched a new event ‘UKFT Rise’ to support the next generation in the fashion and textile industry.

Initially, UKFT Rise will be a quarterly evening event addressed by a selection of inspirational speakers from across the textile and apparel sector.

The new event will bring together people from next generation who have an ambition and drive to rise in the fashion and textile industry. The UKFT Rise events will provide platform for such people to meet regularly and benefit from knowledge shared by various experts from the sector.

Nick Robertson, Founder and Chief Executive of ASOS, was the keynote speaker at the first UKFT Rise event. He shared his experiences of building a successful business.

At the launch of the new event, UKFT Chairman Peter Lucas said in today’s fast-paced business world, it is difficult to build strong relationships by networking with suppliers and customers.

He added that it is very important for today’s youth to gain knowledge about the industry in which they want to build their careers and businesses.

All young and ambitious people who plan to make their career in fashion and textile industry can benefit from listening to inspirational speakers at the UKFT Rise events, he said.
