With many brands outsourcing their manufacturing overseas, particularly to emerging economies, Britain is not only losing factories but also skills that are no longer being passed onto the next generation. If Britain's designers and manufacturers are not supported while they still have these precious skills, they will be lost forever, leaving limited opportunities for the country and future generations.

Passionate about manufacturing in this country and the opportunity it represents for young people, Deborah is perhaps best known for her appearances on the BBC2 series, 'Dragons' Den'. At the end of 2009 she acquired Fox Brothers in Somerset, the woollen mill established in 1772 which to this day is recognised as producing the world's finest flannel and worsted cloths.
