New Look on lookout for talent at Graduate Fashion Week
Jun '12
Graduate Fashion Week has been and gone, leaving a flurry of fantastic new styles and designs in its wake.

Probably the most exciting fashion week, its focus is on those emerging new talents and the energy and dynamism they bring along to the industry. Fresh blood and fresh ideas are what fashion's all about and this year it was as exciting as ever.

A look at what's ahead for the future, the week has been heralded by ex-winner and Burberry designer, Christopher Bailey as a competition producing 'exceptional design talent'.

With 1,000 students from 42 universities taking part for awards in various categories, the exhibition of work to the fashion public was diverse, innovative and exciting. The more prolific Gold Award went to Chloe Jones, of Bath Spa University, whose collection of sweeping, light chiffon skirts and chiffon parkas teamed with chunky layered hoodies, set the tone for a layering of textures and tone.

It's an invite too for established fashion leaders to integrate and take notice of some of the current trends to see how they interact with their own creations, most notably in the high street. New Look, famed for its hard-hitting styles and fashion favourites has a NL Daily Blog, which does just this: stay ahead of trends and movements. Their awareness of fashion's sub-cultures moving into the mainstream keeps them at the head of high street fashion.

Their current summer knits are bang on-trend with what's happening in fashion right now, illustrating their value as trendsetters. Showing how to mix the look with staple items, from skinny black jeans to bodycon dresses and the right pair of wedge shoes, they act as inspirational stylists for their customers and diversify options for mixing and matching fabrics and textures. Evidence of this can be found in their artful take on festival fashion, showing how to team jumpsuits with the right parka.

Everyone plays their part, and as graduates unfurl the looks of the distant and near future, New Look captures the shape of things as they are now, providing customers with everything from shoes to swimwear.

New Look is a award winning fashion retailer, offering a wide choice of clothing to suit all tastes. From jackets to handbags, maternity clothes to wide fit shoes, mens shoes to kidswear.
