With the college football season just a couple of months away, sports enthusiasts are bracing themselves for yet another action-packed, fingernail biting, and all around exciting football experience. To better prepare loyal Texas Tech Red Raiders fans around the nation, South of the Red has released new Texas Tech shirts and other forms of apparel.

2012 promises to be an interesting year for Texas Tech Football. In addition to the Red Raiders' annual rekindling of its historic rivalries, Texas Tech plans on instituting a Ring of Honor to celebrate Red Raider legends of yesteryear. The purpose of the Ring of Honor is to pay tribute to "an elite group of players and coaches that made outstanding contributions to Red Raider Football," according to a press release from the Texas Tech Athletic Department.

"The careers of those that we will celebrate in this Ring of Honor brought national recognition to this university and left an incredible mark no our football program," Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt claimed in a prepared statement. As the Texas Tech program steps into the future by honoring the past, it is a given that fans and alumni will want updated gear for the pivotal 2012 football campaign.
