The sourcing fair will assemble entities that have business interest in varied categories like lingerie, underwear, nightwear, sleepwear, loungewear, swimwear, beachwear, shapewear, stockings and socks.
The profile of exhibitors includes manufacturers and suppliers of fibres, fabrics, laces, embroideries, accessories, trimmings, machineries and automated technology, packaging materials, software solution providers on CAD, CAD, PLM, production monitoring, forecasting, sustainable technology, etc.
With a market size of an estimated Rs 87 billion and galloping at a CAGR of 14%, the branded medium to premium intimate apparel segment alone has a market share of 52% and is expected to grow fastest at 22% CAGR in the next five years.
“Already 50 exhibitors have confirmed their participation in the show. We also have about 10 international exhibitors. All exhibitors will be showcasing products like fabrics, elastics, laces, accessories, etc”, said, Mr Yusuf Dohadwaala, CEO - Intimate Apparel Association of India.
Speaking to fibre2fashion he said, “The entire event is purely need based, especially for the intimate apparel industry as there are very few suppliers that exist in the domestic arena. “Indian origin suppliers are very few in numbers and a couple of good suppliers have never focused on the intimate apparel category.
“They are more focused on the export business. But, now since the export market is going down they have started focusing on the domestic market, yet they have not been able to touch the intimate apparel category; since they are more focused on the outer wear category”.
USA headquartered Invista, a major producer of innovative fibres will be showcasing the latest innovations including Narrows with Lycra fiber, Lycra fiber with W Technology, Lycra Beauty fabric, Coolmax fabric and Thermolite fabric at Galleria.
Revealing the rationale behind partaking at Galleria Intima, Mr Andrew Evans, MD at Invista Sales & Service India Pvt Ltd says, “It is the only sourcing event for the intimate apparel segment. With the evolving consumer, who is looking for quality garments, we believe such events could be a good forum for us to share upcoming consumer trends with the industry”.
Mr. Sanjay Dawar, Director, Bodycare Creations informs, “We face lots of problems in sourcing good quality raw materials as raw material suppliers have never been given stall space at exhibitions. Galleria Initima could be a good place for us to find various and good sources of raw materials on a single platform”.
